HOTEL LiVEMAX Kyoto Gojo

The room was a bit larger than most hotel rooms in which I stayed in Japanese cities (which are often quite small) and contained everything I needed; air-con, en-suite bathroom, fridge and kettle. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were all helpful and spoke English. It is close to the Nishi-Hongan and Higashi-Hongan temple complexes and just about within walking distance of the main railway station (to the south) and the Nijo-jo Palace (to the north). You will need to take the tube to visit all the spectacular historic temples and shrines in eastern Kyoto, but Kyoto has so many sights to see that it will never be possible to find a hotel that is close to all of them. Kyoto is a fantastic city to visit and this was a great hotel in which to stay. It was easy to find.

Absolutely ridiculous to have received a smoking only room. Horrendously Disgusting. How is that even a thing? Besides that, every evening people were racing in front of the hotel in the late evening. Intentional noisy car sounds. What..in Japan...really? Must be a lie... Nope. It's true. Wouldn't recommend staying here.
